Tokyo Keizai University

The root of Tokyo Keizai University goes back to Okura Commerce School, established in 1900 by Kihachiro Okura, an industrialist full of enthusiasm who started more than 200 enterprises in such industrial fields as construction, steel, fiber, etc., which played a crucial part in the development of the Japanese economy in the Meiji and Taisho eras. The school became Tokyo Keizai University in 1949 after a few name changes.
Since its establishment Tokyo Keizai University has been focused on the development of young people who would be active on the international stage and has subsequently made inestimable contributions to the development of contemporary business in Japan. This challenging spirit characteristic of the university continues in its second century.
